It’s time for the Earthsave annual general meeting, and all current members are invited to take part!
Saturday November 3rd, 2012
4pm-8pm (AGM at 6pm)
MOVED TO THE EARTHSAVE OFFICE:
#106-1850 Lorne Street
(one block east of Main and 2nd)
Vancouver, BC V5T 3B7 (the office is open by appointment nly so please buzz 106 to enter)
Free! This event is for members only.
This fun-filled event will be a festive (vegan) potluck including special musical guests. There will also be a fundraiser book sale, where we will liquidate our resource library in exchange for some much needed cash to keep our mission moving forward.
Please bring a vegan dish or dessert to share (serving 5, we have utensils) and any gently used vegan cookbooks or related books you would like to donate.
Our good friends at Field Roast will be providing some tasty festive fare!
The AGM will be held at 6pm, where we will vote for a new board. Board members meet once a month and each contribute in different ways. There is a pressing need for a volunteer coordinator, and those with fundraising and financial backgrounds, as well as other positions. If you have the time and talent to make a difference, please do not hesitate to stand for a position! Earthsave is YOU!
Space is limited to 25 humans so please register on our web site earthsave.ca (best), or call the office to reserve your spot and confirm time and location as these details may change. 604-731-5885
Potluck particulars:
Please bring a dish for the potluck. It can be anything from a side dish to salad to dessert, even a beverage, anything goes!
Store bought is fine too, and If you don’t have the time you can make a cash donation instead.
Please ensure that the dish is completely VEGAN (so that everyone can partake), and would serve 5 people approximately - more is fine too;-)
Please list all ingredients on a piece of paper (recipe not necessary but it is important for many to know what the dish contains).
Volunteers will be cleaning up so please help out as much as you can. We are all in this together!
We hope that everyone will be kind and only take a little of each dish to ensure everyone gets to try some.
ITINERARY for the evening:
4pm: doors open and book sale begins and folks mingle. It will take a little time to have the volunteers check ingredient lists and set up dishes, so please be patient.
5pm: Food will be served, including tasty samples from our pals at Field Roast! Music will begin with special guests Harmony Trowbridge. http://music.cbc.ca/#/artists/Harmony-Trowbridge
6pm: AGM begins (folks can nibble through it of course) – A word from our president, Annual report from our treasurer, A word on the future of Earthsave from our office manager, and then nominations and voting for our new board. Please be brave and stand for a position – we are sincerely looking for new folks to come on board. A computer and internet connection to call your own are very important, as is the ability to play well with others, and of course –available time and enthusiasm for our mission is key. If this sounds like you – don’t be shy! You are Earthsave.
7pm: Time to digest, suggest, and mingle a little more. Musical guest Reid Jamieson (Vinyl Café) will see us out with a set of special tunes just for you. http://www.reidjamieson.com
8pm – that’s a wrap! Folks who still feel up for a little socializing can join us at _TBA__ to help see our intern Nathalie off. After volunteering at the office since mid-August, Nathalie will return to her environmental studies in Germany, and will be missed very much by this one woman office!
