FOOD SCRAPS

farmersMake maintenance of your Green Bin easier with a few simple steps.

  • Wrap your scraps: In paper, newspaper, or even in a cereal box. This helps reduce smells, and keep pests at bay.
  • No plastics of any kind. Even plastics marked ‘biodegradable’ can’t go in your Green Bin. It contaminates the compost, so stick to wrapping scraps in paper.
  • Store your bin in a well-ventilated and shady location and rinse out with a mild detergent between uses.
